Mr. Mutlaq previously served as CEO of Tasnee, which he joined in 2015.

Mr. Mutlaq has consistently demonstrated exceptional versatility and strength in leadership throughout his distinguished career. From 1982 to 2015, he held several pivotal roles within SABIC and its subsidiaries, where he played a major part in driving growth and organizational excellence. He served as Chairman of the Metal Group, overseeing operations and strategic direction in one of SABIC’s most vital industrial sectors, and later took on the role of Chairman at both Hadid and Sadaf, two of SABIC’s flagship subsidiaries, where he was instrumental in enhancing competitiveness, operational performance, and market presence. His leadership and financial expertise ultimately led him to assume the position of Executive Vice President of Finance at SABIC, where he directed the company’s global financial strategy, governance, and capital management, contributing significantly to SABIC’s position as a leading player in the petrochemical industry worldwide.

He has also contributed his expertise as a board member across several leading organizations. Previously, he served as a Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors at Tasnee Company (Saudi Joint Stock). In addition, he has held board positions as a Non-Executive Member at Citigroup Arabia and Tronex Company, as well as an Independent Member of the Board of Directors at SME Bank, where he provided strategic guidance and governance oversight to support the growth and sustainability of these institutions.

Mr. Mutlaq earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and later pursued a Master’s degree in Business Administration with advanced knowledge in leadership, strategy, and financial management.
